The
Town of Loxley Public Works Department consists
of many services such as: water, waste water, solid
waste, streets, animal control, mosquito control,
grass and drainage maintenance. Public Works has
13 paid employees and 4 trustees. Our main goal
is to strive daily to be more productive and most
cost effective for the community. One of our many
services is debris pick up. Our truck operates 2
- 3 days a week. Please call for assistance. The
number is 964-7644.
There
have been many projects in the past years, most
of which have recently been completed. Loxley now
has three water treatment plants and four water
wells. Our wastewater plant, as of December 2011,
is eight years old and one that we can be proud of.
The sewer system is in top operating form, but we
work to improve it daily.
The
street and drainage departments work diligently
to keep the ditches flowing adequately. We ask that
our citizens not place debris in the drainage path.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

General
Information about Your Drinking Water
The
sources of drinking water(both tap water and bottled
water) include rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, reservoirs,
springs and wells. As water travels over the surface
of the land or through the ground it dissolves naturally
occurring minerals and in some cases, radioactive
material. The water can pick up substances resulting
from the presence of animals or from human activity.
Some
people may be more vulnerable to contaminants in
drinking water than the general population. People
who are immune-compromised can be particularly at
rish from infections. Those at risk should seek
advice about drinking water from health care providers.
The
Town of Loxley works around the clock to provide
top quality water to every tap. We ask that all
our customers help us protect our water sources,
which are the heart of our community, our way of
life and our children's future. |
