They're back, by popular demand. Monroe Crossing will be at the Loxley Civic Center on January 26, 2012 at 7:00 PM. Minnesota's favorite bluegrass band will perform along with Down Home, one of our locally great groups, to a crowd of approximately 300 people. Monroe Crossing is one of the up and coming bluegrass groups in America, picking and playing, not only the classic bluegrass music, but also their own original music.

Come join with us and celebrate some of the finest bluegrass music you have ever heard. Tickets are available by calling the Loxley Civic Center at 251-964-7733. Prices are as follows: Advanced General Admission $12.00 (You must come to pick the tickets up before the 26th), Advance Reserved Seating and General Admission (day of performance) $15.00, Children under 10, $5.00 and children under 5, Free.

The Old Loxley Hotel Benefit

On February 4, 2012, the committee to save the Old Loxley Hotel will host a benefit for it at the Loxley Civic Center. A pulled pork dinner either a sandwich meal or a BBQ meal will be served between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM for $7.00. The meal will be followed by a two hour show featuring Danny Rand an Elvis impersonator par excellance. The show will cost $7.00 for admission. This building has been proclaimed by the Alabama Historical Preservation Society as a state historical building. It is probably the oldest structure in town and it is suffering. It needs your help to reach its potential.

The committee for the preservation of the old hotel intends on completely renovating the structure to a like new state, converting the lower floor into a museum and gallery, and making the upper floor into a bed and breakfast for dignitaries. Join with us to help renovate and restore the old Loxley Hotel into what she once was. People from all over the country have stayed there. They would come in on the train, stay at the hotel, conduct business or visit families, and then leave with a smile on their faces simply because the hotel was so convenient.
